[ For agencies & freelancers ]

Get paid for the
WordPress sites you build.

You delivered. They went silent. HyperControl is the remote kill-switch for the WordPress sites you ship to clients. Pause delivery in one click, restore the second they pay.

no card required · cancel anytime · we never lock end clients

[ The situation ]

Your invoice is 60 days late. The site is humming along. The phone isn't ringing.

You can chase, you can lawyer up, you can write off. None of those give you back the leverage you had on day one, when the site was still on your laptop. HyperControl is that leverage, after delivery.

Chasing eats hours

Polite follow-ups, escalations, finally a debt-collector letter. Real money lost in time you could be billing.

Goodwill expires

The longer they ignore the invoice, the less leverage you have. The site is already live; the urgency is gone.

Write-offs hurt twice

You ate the cost of the work, and the next client thinks they can pay you the same way. The pattern compounds.

[ How it works ]

Three steps. Five minutes. One toggle for the rest of the relationship.

  1. 01

    Add the domain

On the dashboard, paste the hostname. We hand you a one-time agent secret you copy into the WordPress plugin.

  2. 02

    Drop the plugin in

Standard WordPress plugin upload. It installs a hidden must-use shim that survives accidental (or intentional) deletion.

  3. 03

    Flip the switch when needed

Maintenance mode locks the entire site, frontend and wp-admin. Public visitors see a generic 'site unavailable' page. The client's logged-in admins see either the same page or a full-screen pay-to-unlock prompt with your invoice and a Stripe link. Toggle off the moment they pay.

Zero ambiguity at the end. If you cancel HyperControl, every site under your account automatically restores within minutes. Sites also reset on payment failure on our side. We never hold your clients hostage because of something between us and Stripe.

[ What you control ]

Everything you can do to a delivered site — from one dashboard.

Install once. From then on, every lever below is a click away — and each one reverses the moment you’re paid.

Maintenance kill-switch

One toggle returns the whole site — front-end and wp-admin — as a proper 503 'unavailable' page. Public visitors and the client both hit it. Flip it back the instant you're paid.

Pay-to-unlock

The client's admins see your outstanding invoice and a Stripe checkout link right on the locked site. It restores automatically within minutes of payment landing — you pay a 3% fee only when you actually collect.

Reset admin passwords

Every WordPress administrator on the site is mirrored live in your dashboard. Reset any of their passwords in one click to regain admin control, or lock down access on a site that's gone dark. The password is shown to you once and wiped from our side after it's delivered.

Hide the plugin — completely

One click and the agent disappears from the WordPress plugins list. The must-use shim keeps running under an infrastructure-looking filename, so your control stays fully in place even when the plugin is invisible to the client. Unhide any time.

Remote uninstall, no trace

When the relationship ends cleanly, remove everything remotely — the visible plugin, the mu-plugin shim and every stored option — leaving the client's install with no sign HyperControl was ever there.

Live status & audit log

Each site sends a heartbeat, so you see online / offline at a glance and get alerted if an agent goes silent or its hostname drifts. Every action you take is written to a per-site audit log.

[ FAQ ]

Questions worth answering directly.

Is what I'm doing here legal?
Holding a delivery contingent on payment is standard agency practice. Most agencies put a 'license is contingent on payment' clause in their contracts; HyperControl is the technical enforcement of that clause. Talk to your lawyer about your specific contract. The technical answer is: you built it, you own it until they pay for it.
Won't the maintenance page hurt my client's SEO?
We return HTTP 503 with a Retry-After header, the proper signal for temporary unavailability. Googlebot treats this as a transient condition and doesn't drop your client from the index. The Agency tier includes a SEO-mode that lets crawlers see the real site while humans see maintenance.
What if my client just deletes the plugin?
On install, the plugin drops a must-use plugin into wp-content/mu-plugins/ with a randomised, infrastructure-looking filename. Mu-plugins have no Deactivate button in the WordPress UI and load before regular plugins. If the client somehow finds it and removes the visible plugin, the mu-plugin keeps the kill-switch active and re-creates a recovery stub on the next admin load.
Can my client see this is HyperControl?
By default the plugin shows up as 'HyperControl Agent' in the WordPress plugins list. You can hide it with a single click in your dashboard — it vanishes from the list while the must-use shim keeps the kill-switch fully active. The Agency tier adds full white-labelling: the plugin name, the maintenance page branding, and the subdomain are all yours.
Can I take back admin control of the site?
Yes. HyperControl mirrors the site's WordPress administrator accounts into your dashboard and lets you reset any of their passwords in one click — so you can regain admin access, or lock it down while an invoice is outstanding. Same principle as everything else here: leverage tied to your delivery, and access is yours to restore the moment things are resolved.
Can a client escape by migrating to a new host?
On Solo and Studio, a determined client can migrate the database and re-deploy without your plugin. That's the limit of any browser-side enforcement. The Agency tier adds tamper alerts: you get notified when an unfamiliar admin user is added or when the DNS A-record changes, giving you a heads-up before they successfully escape.
What happens if I cancel my HyperControl subscription?
Every domain on your account is automatically restored, maintenance off and plugin unhidden, within minutes of the cancellation webhook firing on our side. We never hold your clients hostage because of something between us and Stripe.
What WordPress versions does the plugin support?
WordPress 5.8 or later, PHP 7.4 or later. We test against current WordPress (6.x) and don't ship features that require newer hooks without a fallback.
Is there a free trial?
Yes: 14 days, no card. Sign in with email, get a magic link, you're in. We don't ask for payment details until you're ready to keep the service.
Refunds?
Cancel anytime from the Stripe Customer Portal. We don't pro-rate refunds for partial periods, but you keep service through the end of the month or year you've paid for, and your domains are restored automatically when it expires.
Monthly or annual?
Annual saves you 15% across every paid plan and is the default we recommend. Pay once, no monthly Stripe charge, and a single tax invoice. Switch from monthly to annual any time from the Customer Portal; we credit the unused portion automatically.
Do I need to install anything on my own server?
No. HyperControl is fully hosted. The only thing you install is the plugin on your client's WordPress site, just like any other plugin.
